Questions I get a lot
Still wondering about something? These are the ones I hear most.
Is the course live? −
No. Every lesson is pre-recorded so you can pause, rewind and rewatch whenever you like.
Will I have support during the course if I get stuck? +
Yes! You can ask in the private student community or send me a private message and I'll take a look. You won't be figuring it out alone.
Can I buy the course as a gift to someone? +
YES, absolutely! To gift the course, simply select “Send as a gift” at checkout.
You can either send it immediately, so the recipient receives an email right away with access to start, or schedule the delivery, choosing the exact date the gift email will be sent.
Why should I start this journey with you? +
I've taught over a thousand students, and I still love the moment someone realizes they're more creative than they thought.
My background is in design, so I teach the planning side as well as the clay side. Every lesson comes straight from my work table, in the order I actually work, including the fixes I've learned the hard way.
Is there a community for course students? +
Yes! When you join, you get access to a private student community where you can share your progress, ask questions, and cheer each other on.
For how long will I have access to the course? +
Forever. Once you join, the course is yours.
Can I take the course at my own pace? +
Absolutely. The course is self-paced, so you can work through it on your own schedule and come back to any step whenever you need it. Clay has its own timeline anyway!
Do I need any prior knowledge or experience? +
You should know the basics. If you can throw or hand build a form and want to take your surfaces further, you're ready. The course starts with preparing your canvas, which is a mug.
Are registrations open? +
Yes! You can enroll now and start your first lesson right away.
Is this course suitable for beginners? +
It's made for potters who already know the basics. If you've never touched clay, this might be a big jump. Start with a beginner class first and come find me after. I'd love to see what you make.
Do I need a wheel? +
Nope. The course covers throwing or building your mug, so hand building works fine.
Do I need my own kiln? +
You need a way to fire your pieces. That can be your own kiln or a studio that fires for you. The glaze firing lessons cover this.
